FAQ

When should I book my newborn session?

I recommend booking while you’re pregnant so we can reserve space around your due date. Once baby arrives, we’ll finalize the exact session date together.

When do newborn sessions take place?

Newborn sessions are typically scheduled within the first couple of weeks after birth, but every baby is different. We’ll work together to find a time when baby and your family are ready.

What if my baby doesn’t sleep?

That’s completely okay! Newborn sessions don’t depend on baby sleeping the entire time. Feeding, cuddling, little expressions, and all those tiny moments are part of the story too.

Can siblings and pets be included?

Absolutely. Your newborn session is about welcoming this new little person into your family, so I love documenting those first connections with siblings and pets too.

What should we bring to a newborn session?

I’ll let you know everything you need to bring when we plan your session. In general, bring anything baby needs to stay comfortable, including extra diapers, wipes, bottles or feeding supplies, and a change of clothes for yourself.

What should baby wear?

Simple, comfortable clothing is perfect. Depending on the type of session, we can also incorporate special outfits, swaddles, blankets, or meaningful pieces you’ve chosen for your baby.

Should we feed the baby before the session?

I’ll give you guidance before your session, but generally, having baby fed and comfortable before we begin can help. Don’t worry if baby needs to eat again once we’re there — we’ll simply take a break.

Do we need to clean and prepare our home if we’re doing an in-home session?

Not perfectly! We don’t need your entire house to look like a magazine. We’ll focus on the areas with the best light and the spaces that feel meaningful to your family.
